A compact, well-made single drawer desk or writing table by Abbess Office Equipment in dark stained oak. Circa 1950s–60s.

Abbess Office Equipment was a British manufacturer producing solid, functional furniture for the commercial and institutional market — schools, offices and government departments were typical customers, and their pieces were built to last.

Solid dark stained oak throughout with a single drawer — the legs terminate in solid brass disc feet set slightly proud of the wood, protecting both floor and leg ends. Original Abbess Office Equipment label visible beneath the drawer and stamped on the drawer base.
